The organizational architecture adopted consists of three levels of management: department, division, and service.  It is mainly articulated by the three processes: management, regulatory functions and support:

  • The management processes are carried out by the executive management, assisted by the general secretariat. Specific entities report directly to this level of management (emergency Situations, information and communication, cooperation, legal affairs, and audit and management control).
  • The regulatory functions are carried out by the three departments above, covering three complementary areas of intervention for AMSSNuR.
  • Support processes include the management of human, financial, and general resources.

The agency is structured around four departments:

RADIOLOGICAL SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION DEPARTMENT :

Responsible for ensuring the compliance of all medical and non-medical applications of ionizing radiation sources with the legislative and regulatory provisions of radiological safety and environmental protection.

NUCLEAR SAFETY AND SAFEGUARDS DEPARTMENT :

Responsible for ensuring, in coordination with the departments concerned, the compliance of all activities implementing nuclear and/or radiological materials with the laws and regulations on nuclear safety and compliance with international nuclear security obligations, as well as the implementation of the terms of the safeguard’s agreement between Morocco and the IAEA and the additional protocol.

NUCLEAR SAFETY DEPARTMENT :

Responsible for ensuring compliance of all nuclear activities and facilities and radioactive waste management with nuclear safety legislation and regulations, but also for promoting a national nuclear safety culture.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL DEPARTMENT :

Responsible for the administrative and financial management of AMSSNuR in compliance with regulatory processes and acts, the preparation and monitoring of budget implementation, and ensuring, in an integrated and optimal manner, the availability and development of human capital, technical, logistical, and financial resources necessary for the implementation of AMSSNuR’s programs.
